Eilidh grew up in Edinburgh on the side of the Pentland hills. As soon as

she could walk she was sliding around on little plastic skis attached to

her wellies. Winters were spent skiing in the Cairngorms, no matter

what the conditions, and Summers usually on water from the west

coast to freezing Scottish Lochs. Eilidh was very fortunate to be brought

up with a passion for the outdoors and playing and competing in many

sports. Skiing however always seemed to make the cut above the rest,

although she sometimes wonders why she didn’t go down a summer

sport route!

Eilidh is the founder and director of Peak Snowsports Châtel (France). The

opportunity came in 2023 to expand a family owned ski school from the

other side of the valley. Eilidh had previously worked independently and

leaped at the chance to become part of a bigger team whilst growing the

business and allowing her to lead her own team of instructors with a

shared passion for making memorable moments on snow.

She has been head coach of the Royal Airforce ski team for the last 6

years. Working with the military has been such an inspiring experience for

Eilidh, meeting people from all different kinds of profession, but with a

shared goal of getting better at what they do. Eilidh believes working with

the military has been one of her own greatest motivations to be the best

she can be as well as an incredible learning opportunity.

Eilidh is a BASI trainer and loves passing on her knowledge of the sport to

others coming through the instructor system. She particularly enjoys

running coaching courses, sharing her passion for coaching and ski racing

to those who have come through the instructing system and exploring the

parallels and the differences between the two.

In the past Eilidh was head coach of Kandahar Racing and has also

coached the British Paralympic team. One of her greatest moments with

GB Para Snowsport was seeing a VI paring who were previously very

nervous in speed disciplines, reaching the top of the podium in Downhill

in the St Moritz World cup.

When Eilidh (rarely) gets time to go skiing for herself, she puts on her

telemarks and frees the heel and the mind!

In the summer, Eilidh enjoys all that the mountains have to offer, hiking,

climbing, biking and plenty lake time. This year she completed an MBA

essentials certificate with the London school of economics. She is always

happiest at work, playing in the outdoors, or engaging her brain in

studying. If she wasn’t skiing, she would perhaps utilise her Geography

degree in a teaching roll or alternatively get involved with research in

environmental sustainability.

Eilidh’s passion in skiing is being able to share skills and knowledge to

others so they can love being in the mountains as much as she does.

Eilidh ski raced throughout her teenage years, with goals of becoming an

Olympian. Due to complicated injuries she was forced into retirement at

19 and at the time told she would never ski again. She worked tirelessly in

the gym and with a few helpful surgeons, found her ski legs again at 21

and has never looked back. Now she never takes a day for granted and

wants to make skiing more accessible to all.

Eilidh is very keen on teaching through understanding of both body and

the mind. As someone who loves training in the gym, she finds it much

easier to talk about the positioning of the body and the sensations she or

the learner should get when its aligned correctly. By explaining the feeling

or the outcome of the position, every skier can then align as their

biomechanics allow. Eilidh doesn’t believe in one perfect picture, as all

body types are different, some with injury limitations or imbalances. By

addressing what we feel through our body and equipment she can help

everyone to succeed in better skiing. Eilidh also understands the barriers

our brains can pose for better performance, whether lacking in

confidence or just looking at things in a tactically incorrect way, she can

deliver ideas and thoughts about how to frame the task in a more

manageable way to achieve the goal. Eilidh is super excited to share these

ideas within the Flow Performance Club, both helping others and herself

to continue to learn and make those small but mightily important

marginal gains.
